Um, This Isn't How Drone Fishing is Supposed to Work

Anglers seem to be trying drone fishing more and more these days.

But the drone fishing in this video has a twist.

If you didn't realize it, the video was a stunt to promote a new app. Shot on Lake Butler in Orlando, ad agency SuperHeroes executed the drone stunt. The app is said to be a shortcut for Mac users to update their apps without having to go to the app store.

The concept of the video was to offer anglers a shortcut to get fish in their boats—drone delivery.

Seems anglers are willing to do just about anything to get fish! Many of the unsuspecting anglers went for the "bait" and took the fish.

Not everyone on the lake thought the stunt was fun as first. A few anglers were spooked by the drone but laughed after the gag was explained to them. Others didn't find the drone fishing reversal funny and just wanted the drone and the crew to go away.

Effective as an ad campaign? Who knows? Effective as drone fishing? Nope.
