The season of love is upon us or is it....hate? Do you have a jilted ex? Well, name a cockroach after them this Valentine's Day and get the ultimate revenge. The San Antonio Zoo is once again offering its "Cry Me a Cockroach" fundraiser.
"Love is expensive. Revenge isn't," the zoo shared on Instagram on Monday, Jan. 12. "Cry Me a Cockroach returns with lower prices — because a little payback shouldn't break the bank. Symbolically name a cockroach, rat, or veggie after an ex or not-so-special someone, and we'll feed it to an animal resident!"
You can buy a cockroach for $5 or a vegetable if you want. For $15, you can also name a rodent after your ex as well. The money goes to the good cause of wildlife conservation. In addition to the naming, you will get a downloadable Valentine's Day card to share.
It's been a hit with people at this time of the year. Sure, Valentine's Day celebrates love. But hate is the opposite side of that. Not all relationships have a happy ending after all.
Cockroach Or A Rodent?
"With Cry Me a Cockroach, we've found a fun and creative way for people around the world to get some innocent revenge," Tim Morrow, president and CEO of San Antonio Zoo, said in a statement, per local outlet KSAT. "It's a lighthearted fundraiser with real impact, and it's become a Valentine's Day tradition across the globe."
