Video: Cyclist Going Incredibly Fast Nearly Nails Crossing Deer

High-speed cyclist can thank his lucky stars after narrowly missing a jaywalking deer.

The last thing you'd imagine having to avoid, while cruising on your bicycle, is a runaway deer. Cars, pedestrians, and other cyclists most definitely, but a jaywalking whitetail? What are the chances, right?

This unlikely scenario became real life for avid cyclist Gerry Simas, and lucky for us, he captured the incredible footage with a front-facing bike camera.

Simas was cruising down a hilly section of Park Avenue, located in Rocklin, California, with speeds reaching 40mph.

As you're about to see, this jaywalking deer appeared out of nowhere, narrowly missing what we can only assume was a shocked and stunned cyclist.

Both bicycle and deer did in fact make contact, with a tire clipping the hoof of the animal. Miraculously, both deer and bicyclist managed to remain upright.

This could have turned ugly fast, but luckily for Simas, he came away from this encounter unscathed - and with a mighty cool story to share.
