This hunter's heartbreak is totally relatable.
There is a reason they call it hunting and not killing. It's because things aren't always going to go your way and a harvest is never guaranteed. The best you can do is to do your best to take advantage of the opportunities presented to you.
However, there are times when despite everything working in your favor, everything goes wrong at the last minute. That's the case with today's hunting video from YouTuber Have Bow, Will Travel.
He was hunting in Kentucky when he gets not one, but TWO Grade-A chances at two different bucks on the same hunt. He ends up running out of arrows and his reaction to his mistake is totally relatable.
We don't care where you are hunting, to get multiple shot opportunities at multiple nice bucks in a single hunt is a rare occurrence. The first shot glanced off an unseen limb and the second one appeared to simply sail over the buck's back. It doesn't get much heartbreaking than that.
Almost every hunter can relate to the frustration of missing an easy shot opportunity. Years ago, I missed two prime broadside shots at a nice buck with my shotgun at 30 yards. To this day, I still cannot explain those misses. I shot the gun later at the range and the scope was not bumped. It was just one of those weird things that happens sometimes. The worst part was that the second buck offered several more prime broadside shot opportunities and all he could do was stand there and film.
It's probably always a good idea carry as much ammo and as many arrows as are legally allowed. Because you just never know what's going to happen in the deer woods. As much as this scenario stings for the hunter, at least he seems to have a sense of humor about the whole thing. He also has the right attitude to shake off the mistakes and get back out there to try again.
