I swear, the more travel pieces I write, the more I realize there truly is never a dull moment. While most of the time it is drama surrounding weather or flight delays, there is the occasional passenger drama. However, this one is unlike anything I have ever written before. While I have written about people complaining about airline food, I have yet to write about someone chucking it across the plane. Nevertheless, that is what happened here. A case of jealousy spiraled until it ended in a food fight on board. This, in turn, led to the gentleman being escorted off the plane.
What Led To This Food Fight?
This Southwest Airlines flight just got much more interesting. One of the passengers on board the plane had a meltdown over an incident of jealousy. The man thought that another man was flirting with his wife, and he was determined to handle the matter himself, through a food fight and verbal slander. A video that has now been posted online shows how the debacle escalated quickly. As the video began, the man was already being confronted by airline staff about his outburst over his wife's supposed interaction.
As a result of his outburst, he was asked to exit the plane. When he began giving the woman a hard time, one passenger behind him chimed in. "Everybody wants you off, dude," he said to the back of the man's head. Naturally, this further aggravated the man. He then turned to that gentleman and began accusing him, "So if your wife is over there talking to another man, you're just going to sit there and take it like a little b*tch," the aggressor challenged.
Luckily, airline staff stopped that altercation before it escalated further. However, another gentleman across the row continued to record the man as he was deplaning, and this aggravated him further. "Dollar for a slice," the man teased from his seat. Instantly, the already aggravated man directed his attention towards his new opponent. "You're like 80, and you're still filming people?" he teased the man. Despite the airline employee's requests for the other passengers to stop instigating this man, none paid her heed.
The Internet Reacts
After the last man's comments to him, the aggravated man said, "Don't make me throw my f*king food at you just to prove a point." After his sentence, he then chucked his bag of food at the seated gentlemen. Eventually, another employee assisted in the removal of the man who was involved in the food fight. As he was leaving the plane, people clapped. Finally, the gentleman who was the recipient of the food fight held up the bag of food in his lap and joked, "French fries, anyone?"
The people of the internet, of course, had to chime in with their opinions. After all, it is not every day that you see a food fight on a plane. Here are some of the comments left under the video.
