I will be the first to admit that airplane food is not always the best. However, I am thankful to report that I have never had a truly horrendous experience. While a sandwich may have been a little dry or a snack overpriced, I never got ill. Nor did I have such a negative experience that I needed to vent about it online. Alas, not everyone can be so fortunate. One man had such an abysmal meal served to him that I can understand why he had to tell everyone he knew about it. Here is what the furious passenger had to say about the worst meal ever served to him on a flight.
Man Rages About Worst Meal Ever On Flight

As previously stated, airplane food is not the best. Additionally, your options are even more limited when you have certain dietary restrictions. Vegans, for example, have a far smaller menu of meals to choose from than a traditional consumer. Nevertheless, they expect a quality meal while in the air, same as the rest of the passengers. However, the NY Post shared that one vegan was positively furious after receiving his onboard meal.
He took to the internet to rant about the meal that he was served on Virgin Atlantic, arguing that it was the "worst meal" he had ever eaten. What made it so bad? Well, besides the sandwich being pitiful in size, it was also covered in moldy vegetables. The outlet shared that this passenger was given this meal after a 10-day vacation in Cancun. Not a great way to end a vacation in my opinion.
The sandwich that he received was two thin pieces of courgette with rotten bell peppers shoved in between. When speaking of the horrible meal he shared, "I have had bad food on a flight before, but this was a joke." Then, he reiterated, "It is certainly up there as the worst meal I have ever had."
The Response
The passenger was not the only one shocked by the appearance of his sandwich. His flying companion laughed in shock at the horrid state of the meal. Additionally, the flight attendant was extremely embarrassed and swapped the meal out for a fruit cup. Furthermore, she recommended that he contact Virgin Air when he got home, which he did.
After filing a complaint with the airline, the airline responded by providing him with a $136 voucher. Although their gesture was done with good intentions, the furious passenger was not satisfied. Seeing as his plane ticket cost $800, he argued that the airline could have given him more money, "and it wouldn't be a drop in the ocean to them."
Additionally, he just wanted some acknowledgement of the worst meal that he was served. "I just wanted some acknowledgement from their in-flight catering team, and something properly financial would be nice. Something ot make me feel a bit more valued.
