30 Guns Stolen in 90 Seconds During Maryland Smash-and-Grab Burglary

It takes just 90 seconds for these thieves to make off with 30 guns.

Ninety seconds. That's all it took for two thieves to make off with 24 handguns and seven long guns from the United Gun Shop in Rockville, Maryland.

Now police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms and Explosives in Montgomery County are looking to the public for leads. And they are offering a $10,000 reward for information.

"It just shows you how quickly these burglaries can take place," Montgomery County Police Sgt. Rebecca Innocenti told Fox 5 News.

The big concern is that guns taken in this style usually end up on the streets.

"Anytime that there is a theft to firearms, the ATF has found that those firearms are destined to wind up in the hands of criminals," said the ATF's David Cheplak.

Anyone with information is asked to call the ATF hotline at 1-888-ATF-TIPS (1-888-283-8477).

The suspects are believed to have made their getaway in a four-door sedan of a light color.

Fortunately, the store was only down for a day according to a post on Facebook. "We will be resuming normal operations today - open 10 am to 6 pm," the post reads. "We appreciate all the positive support and outreach we have received from our customers and others in the 2a community."

The war against crime just never seems to end. The news of this big burglary comes right on the heels of New York officials announcing the break-up of the biggest gun trafficking ring ever.
