Yes, You Can Catch Grass Carp on the Fly

If you fly fish for carp, grass carp on the fly are the ultimate test of the trash fish.

I live on a pond. It just so happens that pond is full of grass carp. One of those carp in particular is a state record but I only see it a few times a year and when I do, it is streaking like a torpedo in other direction. Come to think of it, grass carp are terrible. I fly fish for them almost daily and average about five or six of them a year. Trying to chase down a grass carp on the fly is one of the hardest fish I've ever pursued. Perhaps that is why I keep coming back to try again.

In this video, you are about to see how easy some people can make chasing grass carp on the fly look. Personally, I find this video loathsome and inspirational at the same time. It just goes to show that catching a grass carp a fly rod can be done.

Yeah.. so there's that. If you have tried to present to a grass carp, you know just how terrible it can be. As a matter of fact, I'm probably going to be picking up a paddle board just so I can get a better angle at these stupid fish to hopefully up my odds.

Nice video, Drew LooknFishy. From now on, I shall call you Master.
