New State Record Blue Catfish in Delaware

Nice! It seems there's always a record blue catfish being caught somewhere!

A brand new state record blue catfish has been caught out of Delaware. Jordan Chelton is the lucky angler who set hooks into this giant fish. The previous record stood at  25-pounds, 5.6 ounces. Now, this brand new record stands at 36-pound, 3.2 ounce brute of fish. Incredibly, they were both caught out of the Nanticoke River. What's more, the previous record has only been standing for two months before Chelton just came along and smashed it.

As the story goes, Chelton was fishing with cut bait on 12-pound line. The big fish hit around 9:30 pm. From there, it fought Chelton for about 30 minutes before he was able to get the big fish on shore. Delaware Fish and Wildlife Natural Resources Police officer A.F.C. Adam Roark verified the new state record blue catfish and confirmed the weights.

Congrats Jordan on such a big fish! Hopefully your record gets to stand a little bit longer than just a couple months before there is a new threat to your title.
