Gosh darn it, PETA! You done did it again with your off the wall, extreme view on...everything!
The recent video that surfaced of poachers swimming after, capturing, and stabbing a deer has shocked just about everyone in the hunting community. Everyone with common sense knows that true hunters don't play that garbage. But, leave it to PETA to rush in with their opinionated antics as they suggest in a recent article that the poaching incident revealed "what hunting is really about."
Here is a direct quote from their article. Try to hold in your four-letter words as you read this one.
"People who use weapons to massacre a living being for kicks feel a rush of power that they want to experience again and again. A mental health professional might recommend counseling for anyone who chases down and mutilates a helpless living being while cheering and giving high fives."
But that is not all, it gets worse...way worse! Oh, yeah! If you have not seen the video that I am referencing, you can catch up by playing the video below.
We have seen PETA get extremely opinionated about the hunting world more times than we can count. We have also even seen them attack fishing in a ridiculous video that you have got to see by the way. However, this time, they have gone too far!
As their pathetic attempt to build their argument continues they go on to claim that all hunters are serial killers in disguise. Below is another direct quote from their exaggerated attempt to demonize hunters everywhere.
"History is replete with serial killers whose violent tendencies were first directed toward animals...It takes a very small person indeed to enjoy traumatizing, hurting, and killing animals."
Now if you think that is as bad as it gets, well, you are wrong. After making this claim that hunters enjoy "traumatizing" and "hurting" animals, they go on to suggest that hunting is nothing more than a "blood sport". I promise this is true. I couldn't make this stuff up if I wanted to!
To make this whole thing even better they go on to state a complete falsehood by saying hunting as a sport is somehow "dying out quickly". Come on...really! You have to be kidding me.
Here is their full quote from the article.
"The vast majority of Americans oppose hunting--like most blood sports, it's dying out quickly as more people recognize that animals are sentient beings with distinct personalities who love their families, value their own lives, and don't want to die."
This group's whole idea that somehow people who hunt are not for the 'ethical treatment of animals' is absurd. Just because we prefer to kill our own food instead of buying hormone-laced meat from the store does not mean that we are into treating animals unethically. To make that connection is faulty reasoning at best.
Well, there you have it, folks. I don't even know what to say about this group anymore. Just when you think you have seen it all, they surprise you once again.
