Frying Pan River

This is Why You Fish the Frying Pan River in Colorado

Colorado might have more fishable trout streams than just about every other state.

Other states have their fair share, too, but when it comes to numbers and size, it's hard to beat Colorado. The Frying Pan River in particular is home to some true giants.

Some of the best to ever fly fish have found the 42-mile tributary of the Roaring Fork both challenging and inspiring. Just check out this beast of a fish one lucky angler was able to set hooks into.

Yeah, for wild rainbows, it just doesn't get much better than that unless you're fishing in Patagonia or New Zealand. According to the angler who caught it, this fish was approximately 18 pounds and 32 inches long.

Next time you find yourself out near Colorado, make sure to see what waters you're near. It'll be worth it!
