A teen is very lucky to be alive after being seriously injured at a bonfire on Thanksgiving. The incident happened in Virginia. The 17-year-old suffered significant burns as a result.

Garrett Albertson is a 17-year-old from Gloucester. He was attending a Thanksgiving gathering. That's when the bonfire grew out of control. It resulted in burns to the teen. According to NBC affiliate WAVY, the fire became dangerous after fuel was continuously added to it.

Someone dropped a can of accelerant. That caused the fire to spiral out like a blast and hit him directly in the face. In that moment, Albertson said that all he could see was the flames. The fire burned his face, and he thought that he was dying. Fortunately, the teen survived the incident with the fire.
