Swimmers Run in Fear As Killer Whale Comes Super Close to Shore

This isn't something you see everyday.

A group of swimmers were enjoying their afternoon on a New Zealand beach when something happened they just didn't expect. Most people are well aware that even though the odds are unlikely, sharks might attack near a beach. However, a killer whale is a whole different story. When one of those decides they want to eat you, well, it's pretty much game over.

Just check out this video showing a killer whale swimming very close to shore seemingly checking out these swimmers. To date, there has not been a killer whale attack on a human in the wild. There have been some very close calls in the past, though, and these swimmers were most likely never really in danger.

So yeah, I think I would've probably run a little faster than those people and kept running all the way to my plane back to landlocked Indiana. I have an irrational fear of sharks as it is, and now it looks like we can go ahead and add killer whales to that list.

Good stuff. Just another reason to never go more than waist-deep in an ocean.
