Soccer games are always entertaining to watch, but this one was particularly interesting. Perhaps that is because in the middle of the game, one of the players kicked the ball high into the sky. As the ball was soaring through the air, it collided with a seagull that was flying over the field. A kind-hearted soccer player rushed over and began to perform CPR on the seagull, bringing it back to life.
Soccer Player Uses CPR To Help A Seagull Struck By A Ball

It is well known that soccer players are quick on their feet, but it appears this one is quick-thinking as well. After a seagull was struck by a ball during a soccer match in Turkey, one player rushed to the bird's aid.
The NY Post shared that the poor bird was struck during the "first half of the Istanbul First Amateur League playoff final." The match was between "Mevlanakapi Guzelhisar and Istanbul Yurdum Spor in Zeytinburnu."
Once the bird fell, stunned in the field, it was team captain Gani Catan who rushed to assist the bird. The soccer player administered CPR until the seagull became responsive.

This insane moment was caught on camera. The footage shows Istanbul Yurdum Spor goalkeeper Muhammet Uyanik kicking the ball up. After it shows the ball makes direct contact with a seagull flying overhead. The unfortunate creature plummets to the ground motionless.
Everyone paused as they watched the bird fall to the ground, but one man sprang into action immediately. Gain Catan rushed over to the bird and immediately began chest compressions. Soon after, men from both teams formed a circle around the wounded animal.
The soccer player continued to administer CPR to the wounded seagull as the other players formed a protective circle around it. Eventually, the bird became responsive, making slight movements. As soon as the bird became responsive, Catan rushed it off the field and handed it over to medical experts.
Despite later losing the championship game, Catan was all smiles. "We missed out on the championship," he admitted. "But helping save a life is a good thing."
