Shelter dog turned Disney star! What a happy ending for this terrier mix. "Monte," a 2-year-old terrier mix, who once called HALO Animal Rescue his "home," until he was adopted. Now he's a movie star! HALO stands for 'Helping Animals Live On' through increased adoption, sterilization, and pet care education. They're located in Phoenix, Arizona.
In the People.com exclusive story we learn that Monte was adopted last year from HALO and originally came from Las Cruces, New Mexico. Monte will be starring as "Tramp" in the new live-action Disney movie 'Lady and the Tramp'. His adopters say he's been such a good boy and is loving life.
We love Monte's story! The Facebook post below explains that Monte was rescued by HALO Animal Rescue and transported to Phoenix when animal trainers came looking for dogs with star quality for a top-secret project.
"When he arrived at the shelter he was super friendly, he greets people right away, he gives kisses, he loves attention, he knows 'sit' and he knows how to walk well on a leash. His personality made him a perfect fit for the role of "Tramp" and he was adopted by one of the film's animal trainers."
Go, Monte! We cannot wait to see you on the big screen.
People's article tells us that the live-action Lady and the Tramp remake, which is available Nov. 12 only on Disney+, features rescue dogs voiced by human celebrities. We cannot wait!
