Watch This Staffy Mix Dive for Giant Rocks Like a Pro

Some pups are just made for swimming. Large dog breeds like Labrador retrievers, poodles, and Portuguese water dogs can't resist diving into the nearest body of water. Others pups up the ante and dive down as deep as they can to grab rocks, sticks, or anything else they can find from the ground. One viral TikTok video showcases an enthusiastic pooch who routinely dives into rivers, streams, and pools, bringing back all sorts of objects. Raven is an American Staffordshire terrier mix who lives in Australia with her humans and loves to go on outdoor adventures. After all, who wouldn't want to spend their days playing in the water?

Raven first began diving for objects all on her own. The first time she dove under the water was quite shocking, but her owner quickly discovered that she was a talented swimmer. Since they have a pool at home, he works with her to improve her aquatic abilities. They run drills like diving for light hand weights, which Raven handles like a pro. However, during one adventure at a river, Raven finds her maximum weight limit with a large rock.

Her owner throws a small rock into the water for her to retrieve, and she dives down, bringing up a rock larger than her head. She proudly attempts to bring it back to the shore, but as she pulls it up to the surface, Raven realizes her plan has a flaw. The rock is much heavier than she can carry when it's not underwater. She comes up for air, using a larger rock for help, but decides that there is no way she is making it back to shore with the massive rock. Raven begrudgingly lets it go and heads back, where she catches her breath on the shore for a bit. The poor thing looked so disappointed that the rock didn't make it back with her—but we have a feeling this won't be the last time she makes such an ambitious attempt.
