Arguably the best hunting DVD collection, Whitetail Adrenaline, shows us the ups and the downs of hunting in their 2017 DVD "The Good, The Bad, The Ugly."
I've been a fan of the Whitetail Adrenaline guys since their third DVD came to be. While I was searching one day, "Self Film Hunting DVD" and their website appeared. I purchased the DVD "Out of Bullets" and became an instant fan.
My favorite part was these were everyday guys hunting nothing but public land. They went after giant whitetail bucks, and never tried to sell you any products or hunt high fences. The guys just flat out enjoyed hunting and hunted extremely hard to get it done.
Last year Jared Scheffler, the owner of Whitetail Adrenaline, produced a DVD that really solidified his name in the hunting industry. He shot a buck that put him on the front of magazine covers, appear on radio shows, podcasts, as well as interview with multiple media agencies. He shot a beautiful typical whitetail with his longbow that scored over 200 inches. This man put in the hours, the time, and was able to capture it all on film. Credibility was given to his cameraman, his team as a whole and of course the locals who allowed him the opportunity to pursue that giant and put him in his final resting place.
Every single DVD of Whitetail Adrenaline shows a group of guys who are relatable. They are honest, hard working and ethical guys, who everyone could just sit and have a beer with. That is why this year, when they released their DVD, "The Good, The Bad, The Ugly," Jared made sure to put extra care in delivering a special message to his fans.
The DVD shows the struggle of missing deer, wounding deer, and other issues. They even go as far as showing a buck taken from Jared, right under his nose.
Many people have found where these guys hunt and now hunt their locations just prior to them arriving. It's never a dull moment, but that is what makes these guys exciting to watch. They get hit with some obstacles and they overcome.
Without giving away too much of the DVD, Jared took a lot of heat last year on social media when claims of him trespassing and taking a buck off of private property had popped up. The accusations were incorrect and the truth remains in the DVDs.
What I see is a man so passionate about hunting, his reputation, and his message, that he has a breakdown at the thought of doing something wrong. You feel it in your soul and you know it in your heart, this man did not intentionally cross any lines, figuratively and literally. The Whitetail Adrenaline fans who have been loyal and longtime followers of Jared and his crew, know deep down this was a case of miscommunication.
Jared could have easily touched based on the idea, shared his side of the story and continued on, however Jared has more respect for his fans and the ethics of hunting to just accept accusations and incomplete information from the other side. Jared spent countless hours investigating and working tiredly on his own, to share his side of the story. It's the side of hunting no one wants to catch themselves in. Fortunately for Jared, he documents his every move and was able to capture key information that may have helped him. I won't spoil the details or the ending so in order to get your answer I guess you will just have to watch the DVD.
Let's face it, these guys just keep getting better and better at what they do. They aren't out to be the best or sell you a product, they just enjoy hunting. The Whitetail Adrenaline boys are everyday hunters, who love the hunting lifestyle. Their style of hunting comes from a great deal of homework, skill, knowledge and understanding the whitetail deer. Of course luck plays a role, but for these guys, it is usually in the form of bad luck. Flat tires, failed brakes, speeding tickets, it's all part of the game when you put on as many miles on as these boys do to be successful.
Jared, who keeps things traditional with his longbow, never takes the easy way out. I've said it before, but I truly believe Jared is a modern day Fred Bear. If there is a buck in the middle of a wide open field with not even a blade of grass between him and the buck, some how, Jared will get it done. It's not always pretty, but it's real. And that is why these guys should all have a place on everyone's shelf.
If you are looking for a DVD, with hours of jam packed hunting adrenaline, this DVD and all of their others are for you. You don't find many hunters today who hunt as hard, go through as many ups and downs, and yet still come out cracking jokes and having a great time like these guys do. These DVDs will have you laughing, on the edge of your seat, shaking your head, and yelling at the TV like you're watching your favorite football team in the Superbowl. All public land, no sponsors and no ads, these DVDs are just about hunting and having fun. I highly recommend them.
