Polaris Off-Road Unveils Their Extensive 2021 ATV and UTV Lineup

Polaris has announced their 2021 line of off-road vehicles.

For both work and play, outdoorsmen and women love their off-road vehicles and Polaris has consistently been one of the major players in that market. Especially as more people are starting to head outdoors for their recreation fix during the trials of the coronavirus pandemic.

With that in mind, Polaris has just announced their 2021 lineup of ATVs and UTVs. Polaris says their latest lineup of powersports machines come with new design features specifically inspired by input from their customers. From their ever-popular RANGER line of side-by-sides to the Sportsman ATVs, it seems the engineers in Minnesota have been quite busy lately.

With that in mind, let us jump right into the highlights of the new 2021 lineup of vehicles that you can look forward to seeing at your dealers soon for both work and play purposes.

Polaris Sportsman 450 H.O. and Sportsman 570

We will jump right into it with these two popular ATVs which Polaris off-road says have received a bevy of upgrades and new design features that are directly inspired by user input the last few years. Among the features being touted by the company are a more powerful battery, which the company re-located under the vehicle's front rack due to consumer demand. These machines also feature stronger storage racks and upgraded braking and clutching. Polaris also upgraded the tires on the 450 H.O. to 25 inches, which helps offer a full extra inch of clearance over older models. One can never have too much when working in the outdoors.

Polaris also pre-wired these machines for thumb warmer upgrades and plow and winch attachments for people who like to both work and play hard. Both Sportsman models are also getting a towing capacity upgrade to 1,350 pounds for the 2021 model year and both will offer options for electronic power steering (EPS) which will cost slightly more than the standard models. The Sportsman 450 H.O. has a U.S. MSRP of $6,399 while the EPS model's MSRP will be $7,299.

The Sportsman 570 will get a few more variants. The standard 570 will start at $6,999 while the EPS will go for $7,999. The 570 comes with a few extra packages that offer more a few more features and color choices including the Premium, which will start at $8,399. The Hunter Edition comes with the afore-mentioned thumb warmers already, plus Pursuit camo finish, a gun boot and more. The MSRP for the Hunter Edition is $10,299. Other variants include the Ultimate Trail LE for $9,499 and the Sportsman 570 Utility HD LE which starts at $8,649.

Polaris RANGER

When it comes to UTVs, it is arguable that none on the market is more popular than the Polaris RANGER lineup. With six variants releasing in 2021, the company continues to take these machines to the next level. Improvements for 2021 include new 29-inch Maxxis tires to give the RANGER more ground clearance and better traction. These are fitted on 14-inch aluminum wheels. One model, the High Lifter Edition, will have even larger, 30-inch Outlaw 2 tires which give it 15 inches of clearance specifically for mud.

Most notable here is a new addition to the lineup in the XP 1000 Trail Boss and XP 1000 Northstar Trail Boss. These are serious working machines that have been fitted with a self-leveling suspension system. They say that this system prevents the machine from losing any ground clearance even if you weigh the bed down with a payload. Sounds handy for game animal retrieval in remote areas. This model also features active descent controls for safely going up and down steep inclines, larger tires, and arched A-arms to help give the machine 14 inches of ground clearance.

Polaris Inc says the 2021 RANGERS will need less time being serviced due to an upgraded clutch system and stronger chassis. They had to increase the strength of the chassis by 15 percent to account for suspension upgrades and an increased front drive strength of 30 percent in the RANGER 1000 and RANGER XP 1000 models. Polaris also decided to add a battery changing port to the dashboard this year. They say this will help users keep the machine charged and ready to go even if let to set for a long time.

Another feature added due to consumer demand are powerful LED headlights, which are included standard for the Northstar Ultimate and Trail Boss but are also available through the RANGER XP 1000 RIDE COMMAND package for more visibility in dark conditions. The MSRP on the new RANGER models varies from $18,999 for the XP 1000 Trail Boss to $31,199 for the XP 1000 Northstar Trail Boss models.

Polaris General

This model of side-by-side has only been around for five years, but this is the one that Polaris markets as their "crossover" machine for people who want vehicles for both work and fun. The two models being made available this year are the GENERAL XP 1000 Pursuit edition and the GENERAL XP 4 1000 Pursuit editions. These sharp-looking vehicles are available in both a 2-seat and 4-seat configuration depending on your needs. Sounds like a solid way to get ourselves and our buddies to our hunting spots this fall.

The GENERAL models are geared towards hunters with the Pursuit editions, but the company is also offering a few different color options. Polaris decided to fit the 2021 GENERALS with their popular RIDE COMMAND GPS package, which offers a navigational screen and the ability to connect with your smart phone and share waypoints with other users of the system. No more getting lost in the dark on winding trails. Polaris says their new "Lock & Ride" rear bed storage racks also offer the ability to carry more gear or even a game animal out of the woods. The 2021 GENERAL XP 1000 Pursuit edition starts at $23,999 while the XP 4 1000 Pursuit edition has an MSRP of $25,999.

Polaris RZR

For anyone looking for a performance side-by-side, the Polaris RZR models are the machines to consider. The company has eight different models for 2021 and all should prove popular for anyone who loves recreational trail riding. This includes a new addition to the family, the RZR Turbo S Lifted Lime Limited Edition. It is loaded with the RIDE COMMAND system, LED lights, an aluminum roof, and lower doors. This model also features the company's signature DYNAMIX active suspension system and a special premium paint scheme. The MSRP is $31,299.

The Polaris RZR Pro XP and RZR Pro XP 4 models have gotten some additional love this year too. The company announced an 18 percent reduction in wheel weight, a blow molded engine air intake, the RIDE COMMAND package, new tender springs, and an enhanced audio system. The popular RZR XP Turbo and RZR Turbo S has seen an improvement to the design of the clutch and airflow to keep the machine cool during long days on the trails. These machines have also been given rear shock guards for 2021..

Just like the RANGER, Polaris has decided to incorporate standard a trickle charge port adapter into the dash of every machine in the RZR lineup except the 570 to help with longer battery life while the machine is in storage. Not a bad idea for those of us who have to suffer through long winters without using our machines. The MSRP for the RZR line of machines ranges from $19,999 for the RZR XP Turbo to $31,2999 for the RZR Turbo S 4 Lifted Lime LE.
