People Were Stunned After An Airline Forgot Over 30 Passengers And Departed Without Them

Let's face the truth, no matter what airline you choose, there is always the chance for mishap at the airport. Whether it is a security snafu, delayed flight times, or plain old rude passengers, there is always the chance for something to go amiss. With that said, there are definitely some airlines that offer better services than others. I am sure that when these passengers booked their travel with Jet2, they were expecting a normal flight. However, after the airline forgot over 30 passengers behind and departed without them, I am sure many people had a lot to say.

30 passengers got the surprise of their lives when en route to their holiday in Spain. However, it was not in the best way. The NY Post shared some of the details surrounding this surprising situation. These passengers, along with many others, were scheduled to fly from Manchester to Alicante, but not all of them made it there. After showing staff members their boarding passes, these 30 passengers ended up taking a wrong turn on their way to the plane.

Somehow, someone took a wrong turn down a stairwell, and following the herd mentality, the masses followed. This left those 30-odd individuals at a dead-end instead of the jetway that would take them to their aircraft. Although you might assume this would tip them off that they went the wrong way, it did not.  When speaking with the Manchester Evening News, one of those passengers, Matt, spoke about the experience.

How This Happened

Matt explained that the passengers never assumed they had taken a wrong turn. Instead, they simply thought an employee was on the other side of the door. He shared that he and the rest of the group assumed this was all part of the process, and an employee would open the door for them. Alternatively, he assumed perhaps a shuttle would ferry them over to their destination. Unfortunatley for Matt and the other 30 or so passengers, that was not the case.

The entire lot of them ended up stranded at this dead end for over 40 minutes. Later, when an employee finally did arrive, it was to inform the group that the flight had departed without them. Naturally, none of them were thrilled with the airline. Matt told the outlet he was amazed that the airline crew did not conduct a headcount, as they were missing a fair number of people. These individuals did receive a small travel voucher and were placed on other flights.
