Texas fish kill

This Massive Ongoing Texas Fish Kill is Currently a Mystery, But It's All Caught on Video

Right now, no one knows why this Texas fish kill is happening.

A massive fish kill is currently underway in the Lone Star state near Matagorda. As you are about to see, famous outdoors YouTube personality, The Fish Whisperer, just happened to be there to catch it all on tape.

Just watch as huge numbers of redfish, menhaden, trout, and even flounder wash up on shore. There's even a trout so big it would be a trophy by most people's standards.

As of now, there's no official explanation as to why this fish kill is taking place. However, there are some likely culprits. According to the comments on the video, it's just a matter of time before the killer is named: fertilizer runoff is a leading suspect. More likely, however, the fertilizer runoff is just part of the process that has enabled a disproportionately large algae bloom to take off in the riverway and choke all the oxygen out of the water.

If that is the case, not much can be done about it. It's just nature taking its course, regardless of how tragic it is.
