Kayaker Hooks Shark, Then Goes for a Ride

This is why you shouldn't shark fish from a kayak.

Kayak shark fishing sounds pretty awesome in theory. However, when the time comes to actually put it in practice, it's pretty terrible. Just check out this video of an Aussie kayaker hooking into a shark and having no idea what to do about it.

One thing that is pretty cool, though, is how much that shark jumps. It's not a mako, but according to the video and the comments of the video, it's a copper shark. Apparently, they're pretty wide spread and not that dangerous. Nonetheless, in a kayak, I'd want none of that crap.

"I don't want that...anywhere near my boat."

Yep, I couldn't have said it any better. I'm all about chasing around huge sharks, but only in a boat big enough that my butt isn't dragging in the water.

Although he didn't caught the shark, it's probably a good thing. Something tells me he wouldn't have been happy with that result.

I guess this is why we should carry a GoPro when we fish!
