High Schooler Killed by Falling Tree While Playing with Friends in the Park

A 15-year-old high schooler has tragically passed away after a tree fell on while he was playing with friends at the park. The incident happened at Holmcroft Park on May 2.

"Tragically, nothing could be done to save the boy. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 7.:30 p.m," Staffordshire Police said in a statement at the time.

Following the passing of the high schooler,  Sir Graham Balfour School Stafford shared a tribute to Facebook. "It is with profound sadness that I am writing to you today to inform you that Brodan Dubickas, a Year 10 student at Sir Graham Balfour School, tragically died in an accident at Holmcroft Park on Saturday evening," headteacher Mr. M. "He was intelligent, thoughtful, and inquisitive," Mason continued. "Brodan had such a bright future ahead of him and it is heartbreaking that it has been taken from him in such a tragic manner. Brodan enriched the lives of so many people in such a wonderful way. We will miss him dearly, and we will treasure the legacy he left on all who knew him."

The headteacher noted that it is a difficult time for the student body after the death of the high schooler.

"We know how difficult the coming days and weeks will be for all those close to Brodan and all those affected by this tragic news," he continued. "School will be open as normal for all students on Tuesday morning and there will be comprehensive help, support and advice in place for those who need it."

Mason also added, "Everyone at Sir Graham Balfour School sends their thoughts and prayers to Brodan's parents, his family, his friends and all those affected by this tragic news."

Meanwhile, the highschooler's former school Tillington Manor Primary School also remembered him on Facebook. "It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I am writing to share the devastating news that Brodan Dubickas, a former pupil of Tillington Manor and now a Year 10 student at Sir Graham Balfour School, tragically lost his life in an accident at Holmcroft Park yesterday evening," Mrs. Brockhurst, Tillington's headteacher, wrote.

She also added, "Although Brodan had moved on from Tillington Manor, he will always remain a valued part of our school family."
