As someone who loves children, I will be the first to admit that they are not my favorite people to fly next to. It's not always their fault. Sometimes they are too young to recognize social cues and norms, and if I am being honest, they act the way most adults feel. I know there have been several flights where I have wanted to kick off my shoes and cry. While you can't choose your seatmates, most people expect a decent level of respect from one another. However, one frustrated flier had to deal with a misbehaving child and a lack of parenting. Turns out that this individual was not having it. Rather than suffering in silence, they turned around and corrected the child and their parents mid-flight.

This person has guts, I will give them that. I know at least half of the people would have suffered in silence or just shot dirty looks over their shoulders in this situation. This person, however, was not going to deal with this grievance for the duration of their flight. The NY Post shared details from a Threads post. While on a flight, one woman suffered from one of everyone's worst fears...a seat kicker.
The child behind her would not stop kicking her seat, causing her great annoyance. In her post, she shared, "I'm on a flight, this kid is kicking the FAWK outta my seat." However, she also shared how she handled the situation. Rather than ignoring the situation, she opted to confront the child's parents. She shared, "I calmly turned around, looked at his parents, and said one of you needs to switch seats because I'm not going to tolerate 4 hours of your child kicking my seat and you NOT paying attention and properly parenting."
Naturally, the parents were shocked by her boldness. Nevertheless, they heeded her advice. The post detailed, "The Dad said sorry and moved his child to the middle seat. Well played, Pops. And yes, I realize I'm childfree in a child-filled world, but what I'm NOT gonna do is be inconvenienced by a lack of parenting."
