Don Higgins's Deer Mounts from His Epic 2017 Season Are Officially Done

The two deer Don Higgins took on back-to-back sits during the 2017 archery season are ready to come home from the taxidermist.

Over time, 200-inch deer have become kind of the ultimate trophy goal for whitetail hunters. It's a special number many hunters put hours in the stand hoping to achieve. Many will go their whole hunting careers without ever even seeing a 200-inch whitetail.

Some people are fortunate enough to get a crack at one. And then there is Don Higgins, who somehow was able to harvest a collective 400 inches of antlers in back-to-back hunts. That's a whitetail season that'll be virtually impossible to top, even with Higgins' expertise.

I covered his season pretty closely, reporting on his successful harvests of bucks he called Smokey and Trump. Both were world-class deer he had many years of history with. So why not give you an update on the latest news about these trophies?

They're officially done at the taxidermist and they look incredible thanks to the beautiful work at Kibler's Taxidermy. I've admired Kibler's work from afar over the last year, and as usual, his work doesn't disappoint. If you have an obsession with whitetails, Kibler's social media is a fun follow.

Check out these monster whitetails in all their glory.
