Disneyland Faces Major Outrage From Fans After Revoking Beloved Perk

I have to admit that I am an avid Disney adult. While I have only ever stayed at Disney World and have yet to make it over to Disneyland, I am a lover of all things Disney. That being said, even I am confused by their latest announcement. Unfortunately for them, I am not the only fan who is now enraged. Disneyland is facing widespread outrage from its fans after revoking this beloved perk.

Disneyland Faces Major Outrage After Revoking Beloved Perk

While Disney is a magical place, let's be honest, it is ridiculously expensive. This is especially true if you want to have the "full experience" and stay on Disney property. However, in the past, there were certain perks that came with staying on the property that made it worth it. Most notably, one of the perks was early access to the Lighting Lane at the park. That's right, in the past, Disneyland guests staying on property could get a whole hour head start before other guests.

Eventually, that time was chopped in half, so resort guests only got a half an hour headstart, but it was still a benefit. Now, Disneyland has decided to revoke that beloved perk entirely. Without this benefit, many Disney fans are now wondering what the point is. After all, there are plenty of more affordable options located close to Disneyland. So why pay the outrageous prices if there are no benefits?

Fans Of Disneyland Revolt

The NY Post shared some of the outrage that has been circulating online. One Disneyland fan argued that they no longer see the appeal of staying on property. "This really kneecaps the appeal of the on-site hotels," they complained. "You're not in the bubble, and there are hotels closer to Disneyland than Disneyland Hotel," said another fan, "I have no idea why you wouldn't stay somewhere nicer down the street for less money," they added.

Honestly, I entirely agree with their point. However, Disneyland didn't just remove this beloved perk without offering something in return. In exchange for losing early access to Lightning Lane, the theme park is "providing hotel guests with one Lightning Lane entry to a Lightning Lane Multi Pass attraction if they stay at one of their three hotels: the Disneyland Hotel, The Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, and the Pixar Place Hotel." Unfortunatley for Disney, guests are not impressed with this.

"One single lightning lane per stay is wild. That's almost worse than offering no LL's per stay," another comment read.

A content creator by the name of Theme Park Mom shared a video discussing the pros and cons of this latest development, but the comments under her video echoed the previous sentiments. Here are some of the comments left under her video.

  • "We've stayed at Pixar twice now, we love it but the walk it kinda long but the early entry was the main reason we stayed."
  • "I  will never stay at a crazy overpriced DL hotel again without Early entry."
  • "It was already a joke when they dropped Magic Morning from an hour to 30 minutes."
  • "I'm sad. It was a nice perk for you to stay on property. The Pixar place and DH are too far from the entry gates."
