That is one ballsy coyote. Dr. Steve Poletti had the right reaction to dealing with a wolf or coyote threat: make yourself bigger and look scary, but don't run. Back away slowly and avoid eye contact.

Obviously, some coyotes are losing their fear of humans in this doctor's area. How long before one stops following adults and tries to follow a child?

Coyotes first started to appear in South Carolina 30 years ago and continue to thrive at the cost of the deer population. To combat this, the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources has very loose regulations on coyote hunting.
