Common Food Plot Mistakes

These are the most common problems hunters face when planting food plots.

With so much information available at our fingertips, you would think planting a food plot would be simple. Throw out some seed, watch it grow and let the deer come to you. However, if you've ever planted a plot, you most likely know it's not all sunshine and rainbows. Here's a few common mistakes that will cause a plot to just won't grow.

The mistake I see most often and have even been a victim of myself is trying to grow in the wrong location. Just because you have an opening in the woods doesn't make it a good place for a food plot. Sunlight and soil type are key. Odds are there's a pretty good reason that ground is bare.
