Colorado Has a New State Record Crappie

For a state that isn't known for them, this sure is a nice record crappie!

Colorado is a fly fishing state. People travel from all over the world to chase down huge trout in beautiful streams. However, trout aren't the only fish Colorado has to offer.

Fesstus Stalder of Greeley proved that when he broke a 27-year-old state record. Weighing in at 3 pounds, 7.84 ounces, Colorado now has a new state record crappie.

As the report goes, this 17.472-inch crappie was caught at the Frank Easement West Pond in Windsor, Colorado. Beating the old record of 3.22 pounds caught back in 1990, this fish has now easily taken the top spot

There was no mention of what the fish was caught on.
