Florida hammerhead

Bystanders Scream as Giant Florida Hammerhead is Caught From Beach

Goodness, this is one big Florida hammerhead shark!

Fishing at night from the beach for sharks is a fairly popular pastime in Florida. This is especially true during the blacktip shark migration. However, every now and then a different shark is caught that makes the news. For example, this massive Florida hammerhead is something you need to see to believe. This thing is a monster!

There's no telling how many people were gathered around watching this giant shark get caught and released. One thing is for sure though, those people were excited to see it! It looked like the release was a little rough. I also didn't really care for that guy sitting on the shark, but hopefully all's well that ends well. It looked like the shark swam off no worse for the wear.

Very soon I'm going fly fishing for mako sharks off the California coast. Perhaps though, a trip to the Florida coast might be in order if tangling with a giant Florida hammerhead might be on the menu.

I mean, who wouldn't be down for an hours long fight against a man-eater?
