25-Year-Old Equestrian Dies After Heartbreaking Freak Accident

A 25-year-old equestrian has tragically died. She was riding a horse when it balked and caused them to crash. The 25-year-old fell from her saddle with the animal collapsing on top of her.

25-year-old equestrian Chloe Christina Smith died as a result of her injuries. She had gone riding with friends last Friday. Sadly, that's resulted in a significant accident. Both horse and rider died with the horse suffering a fatal neck injury. Emergency responders airlifted the 25-year-old to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

Sadly, the equestrian passed away with her family at her side.

"Chloe ... died living her dreams," her obituary said. "Most of us never get that chance, that special moment where life comes together, the wind is at your back, and you have everything you ever wanted right in front of you. An avid equestrian, Chloe loved horses. In a cruel twist of fate, she had just achieved what she most desired: she was the new owner of a farm and barn for stabling horses, was moving up the ranks in competitive riding, and teaching lessons to another generation of riders. Following an accident during a routine ride, she is gone long before her time."

However, before her death, her family confirmed that she was able to fulfill her lifelong dream. She bought a horse farm with 18 horses and riders.

"Her world was right there," her father, Jim. "Her life was horses. That was her love."

Meanwhile, her brother, Andrew, talked about how much she loved horses and how happy she had been before her passing.

"She said she wanted to live there the rest of her life," her mother, Abbe, said. "She wanted to get married there."

Several mourned the death of the equestrian.

One wrote, "Was lucky to have crossed paths with you Chloe our hearts break for your family and friends. Please rest easy, you were very loved."

Another wrote, "Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss... Our thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time."
