A reconstruction of Noah's Ark to help prevent extinction was not on my 2026 bingo card. Nevertheless, Colossal Biosciences always seems to keep us on our toes. Back in 2025, the company managed to successfully de-extinct dire wolves. Now the three wolves, Romulus, Remus, and Khaleesi, have been thriving. However, the company was not satisfied with saving just one animal species. Now, they have their sights set on saving even more, and they plan to do so by building their own version of Noah's Ark.

CBR shared details surrounding this ambitious endeavor. Colossal has been doing some big things. The outlet shared that the company recently announced "the creation of the first Colossal BioValut and World Preservation Lab." Additionally, they shared that the lab will be "permanently housed at Dubai's Museum of the Future." Now they plan on building their own version of Noah's Ark.
As is the case with most of their endeavors, this new project will cost a pretty penny. We are talking a nine-figure initiative. Another thing that makes this project so exciting is that this particular version of Noah's Ark will be filled with extinct species. It sounds like a serious undertaking; however, given their success with the dire wolves, my doubts are lessened. Perhaps they really could succeed in this insane idea.
The Museum Is Happily Working With Them
The Museum of the Future is happy to work alongside Colossal for this exciting new project. The museum's Executive Director, Majed Al Mansoori, had this to say about the endeavor. "I believe the future belongs to those who harness technology and innovation to address our greatest challenges." From there, he also shared the following sentiments. "By working with Colossal Biosciences, leaders in synthetic biology and conservation, we are taking a bold step to advance science that safeguards our planet, restores ecosystems, and builds a sustainable legacy for future generations."
It appears that, in addition to restoring species that are already extinct, this new Noah's Ark project also aims to help the species that are currently facing extinction.
