A cruise passenger is speaking out after a 73-year-old has fell overboard on a Disney Cruise Line. The incident happened last weekend.
The incident happened on Saturday, November 22 in the early hours. The Disney Wonder, part of the Disney Cruise Line, had been sailing from Melbourne, Australia to Auckland, New Zealand. That's when the senior passenger fell overboard, according to 7 News Australia.
Man Plunges From Disney Cruise
"The captain came on and updated the boat and basically stated that there was someone, a passenger had fallen overboard ... [but] that they were unable to find them," passenger Mitch Talbot told the outlet.
He added, "It was quite somber, and it was a bit eerie the rest of the day. A lot of the staff kind of took some time."
According to authorities, the man was a Melbourne native. At this time, authorities do not believe that the man's death was a result of foul play. Instead, it appears to be the result of a tragic accident.
Following the death, the Disney ship continued with its journey. Due to the setback, it will reach its destination a day later than previously scheduled.
