Hunter Downs Giant Georgia 6-Pointer With Perfectly Placed Shot

This giant 6-pointer is the stuff dreams are made of.

When most people talk about their ideal big buck, they're probably going to picture an eight or 10-pointer with a wide spread, tall tines and great mass. In the hunting world, it seems like most hunters truly believe the more points a buck has, the better.

Don't get us wrong, we're not about to turn down an opportunity at a nice eight point or larger, but there's something special about larger bucks that manage to accumulate an impressive score without having a ton of points.

That is the case with this video from YouTuber Cut4 Outdoors. Mitch Woods is hunting in Georgia hoping for a chance at one of a few big bucks he has on camera. One of them is a 6-point of monstrous proportions that you just don't see every day.

Big kudos to Mitch on passing up that first 8-pointer. That was a beautiful buck and a deer that many hunters would have a difficult time passing up. It ended up paying off in the end as the 6-point he took was an absolute brute of a deer. I don't know about you, but it's always been my dream to harvest a giant 6-point. Bucks like this just do not come around often.

Mitch made an awesome shot on this deer too. One shot from the .45-70 and that old forest warrior never knew what hit him. It's a true testament to this round as a deer hunting cartridge.

It also just goes to show that when it seems like everything is going wrong, good things can happen. He was having a lousy day until this buck decided to walk into the shooting lane. We're most impressed with how this buck kept his basic 6-point frame for years. In the video's comments he notes that the buck grossed 117 inches, which is darned impressive for a deer with so few points.

Congrats on an awesome buck Mitch!
