A fish that exists in every continent is going to have some crazy adaptations.
Catfish are hands down the most adaptable and diverse species of fish. Existing almost everywhere there's water, these hardy fish can adapt to almost any environment. Some of these adaptations make these fish rather interesting to see, too. Check the video below to see ten examples.
So this just confirms that noodling is a tactic exclusive to North American fisherman. Some of those things had teeth that would make a pike look docile. Then there's the Wel's catfish that you wouldn't even think about trying to wrestle.
Don't let some of these strange species deter you from fishing for them, though. There may be many differences among catfish species, but they all put up an incredible fight.
