Video: Would You Carry This Louis Vuitton 1911?

From the muzzle to the magazine, this 1911 has been completely decked out in Louis Vuitton glamour.

Louis Vuitton is a name synonymous with wealth. In fact, it held the record as the world's most valuable luxury brand for six consecutive years.

The 1911 may have originally been standard issue for the United States Armed Forces, but this customized pistol is anything but standard. Check it out in the video below. Not a single inch of this pistol has been left unadorned.

That's a lot of bling! This Louis Vuitton 1911 is estimated to be worth around $50,000. At that price, I have to wonder if anyone would be willing to even fire it.

Obviously, this is meant as a display piece for a collection. Still, though, it seems odd to think of a firearm as becoming a fashion accessory.

It's interesting that there isn't any leather utilized in this customization. The Louis Vuitton brand has been around since 1854, so it existed when the 1911 was introduced. However, it began as a travel brand, specializing in stackable, flat-top leather trunks. So, utilizing high-quality leather could've been a nice callback.

However, the Louis Vuitton brand has also openly admitted to collaborating with the Nazi party during WWII. So maybe they would prefer not to callback to their history.

What do you think? Would you carry a pistol like this? Many of us gun nuts love to show off to our fellow enthusiasts, but this seems like a lot of cash for bragging rights!
