TSA decided to end 2025 with a bang and a bit of a laugh. Despite all of the warnings and attempts to get people to listen to guidelines, many are still hellbent on bringing certain restricted items aboard the aircraft. Now, TSA is sharing the most bizarre items they confiscated in 2025. You are not going to believe some of these strange items.
Yes, TSA Actually Confiscated These Strange Items

You would think with the new rules surrounding Real ID and all of the facial scanning technology that people would be more cautious with what they pack. Alas, there are always those individuals who think they are above the rules - or at least that they can outsmart them. Unfortunatley for most of these people, that is not the case. TSA finds your items, and then you all suffer from embarrassment and annoy every other passenger that you are holding up with your foolishness.
Perhaps even more bizarre than some of the items themselves were the lengths people would go to hide the items. This goes past carelessness, my friends; many of these items were deliberate attempts to make things difficult for TSA. So without further hesitation, here are some of the strange items TSA had to confiscate this past year.
- A firearm
- A BB gun
- Death star
- Flashlight taser
- Incognito knife
- Comb knife
The Stories Behind The Strange Items
First up, we have a firearm. Okay, not that strange, right? Several people have tried to smuggle a gun on a plane before. What made this situation particularly strange was how the flier tried to smuggle it on board. The gun was inside a guitar case. When confronted about the weapon, the NY Post shared the individual claimed they had no knowledge of it and that the guitar case had been gifted to them.
Again, another attempt to hide a weapon. Although this one was a BB gun, the flier hid it on the inside lining of their luggage. I don't know if they think that the bags don't go through rigorous screening, but this looks oddly suspicious when you are trying to hard to conceal these items. Speaking of dangerous items, how about a Death Star? Seems bizarre, right? I really don't understand people's desire to sneak weapons aboard. Nevertheless, this individual tried to sneak three throwing stars on the plane.
Imagine the TSA officers' surprise when they found this strange item in their bag. Upon a routine check, this officer found a flashlight taser. Honestly, it was an impressive find, considering that on an X-ray, it would most likely appear as an ordinary flashlight. Similarly, this next weapon was also tactfully hidden. One passenger tried to smuggle an incognito knife in their belt buckle - honestly, this one terrifies me. Speaking of knives, another passenger tried to smuggle a knife in their comb. The handle of the weapon looked like the handle of a comb. It was bizarre.
These weapons were only a fraction of the strange items that TSA officials had to deal with this past year. Honestly, reviewing the entire list makes me have more patience for waiting in those long security lines. I want them to find all of these things because I don't want anyone throwing death stars or tasing people on board.
