Humpback whales have been recorded showing behavior that could be deemed altruistic.
Could it be true? Wild humpback whales trying to intervene in killer whale hunts just to save other creatures of the ocean?
If you saw video of a whale giving a seal a ride on its fin to save it from being eaten would you believe it??
Well here it is:
The video says that experts examined over 100 confrontations between humpbacks and orcas that always start when the whales intervene in an orca hunt.
Watching the video you may begin to believe that it could certainly be true. While humpbacks will absolutely protect their own young, it may be simply that when orcas are near that natural protective response kicks in.
What do you think?
