Watch the Aftermath of a Freight Train That Hit a Tanker Truck Filled with Hydrochloric Acid

In this clip, watch a freight train collide with a tanker truck at a crossing, leaking dangerous hydrochloric acid all over a track.

The collision flooded 4000 gallons of hydrochloric acid onto the track and surrounding area, with witnesses reported a strong battery acid smell immediately. As a result, 15 homes in the area had to be evacuated with two rail crew members suffering from respiratory issues.

Hydrochloric acid comprises of gas hydrogen chloride mixed with water, resulting in a highly corrosive liquid used to create polyurethane, PVC parts, household cleaning liquids, and other industrial goods.

It is also used to process steel, batteries, and fireworks, emitting an irritating odor while destroying almost any finish it touches if it is not encased in specialized containers, making this a terrifying situation for all involved.
