Kansas Game Warden Frees Two Locked Bucks With a Shot From His Glock

Ever seen someone free locked bucks with a single shot?

All too often, when two bucks end up getting their antlers locked, it ends with one or both dead.

But that's not the case for these two big Kansas bucks. In video captured by the officer's body camera and posted to the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks' Facebook page, game warden Lynn Koch frees the exhausted deer with one well-placed shot from his .45-caliber Glock in Coffey County.

Unbelievably, this isn't the first time Koch has done this.

"Last year I (shot the antlers to free two bucks) but one of the deer was already dead," Koch told Kansas.com.

He decided to try the tactic again after he and fellow warden Brad Hageman decided it was the safest course of action for both human and animal.

"I have a lariat in my pickup, but know there was no way to use it without one of us maybe getting hurt," Koch said. "I talked to Brad and we both decided it was best to use the gun."

You've got to love his reaction to a successful shot and rescue. The best part is, both bucks live to fight and see another day. Nice shooting, officer!
