Video: Think You Could Hit a Target That Chases You?

This is method of target shooting we haven't seen before.

You can hone your shooting skills in a ton of different ways. You can go to the shooting range or to a remote piece of land. You can shoot long-distance, short-distance or somewhere in the middle. You can shoot standing up, sitting or lying down.

We've all tried mixing up our paper targets and shooting at new things. Most of us have used a bench rest before. Some of us like to use sandbags, where others prefer to use a vise.

Serious shooters generally make their situations a little more realistic, though. Instead of practicing with one still target downrange, they'll create a real-life shooting environment with walls, doors and multiple targets, including ones they don't want to hit.

You see military and police personnel go through training courses that look something like this. Occasionally, you see shooting competitions that feature a segment that looks the same.

But, have you ever seen someone shoot at a target that's charging at them and chasing them around?

Watch the video below:

I don't know about y'all, but that honestly looks terrifying. It'd be one thing if the target was moving at a lackluster speed, but that thing is humming! There were a couple times I thought that thing was going to catch him.

On the other hand, though, I don't know if there's anything that could possibly simulate a self-defense situation against a bad guy this well!

As far as shooting targets go, this one definitely seems the most realistic. I mean, it literally seems like it's alive.

Law enforcement and military personnel are sure to pick up on these targets for firearms training programs if they haven't already.
