WATCH THE VIDEO NOW:
From the first few words and images in this video, it's clear that primitive archery transcends passion for Ryan Gill. It is truly his calling.
Watch, listen and learn as bowhunter Ryan Gill explains how he created his traditional bow and planned his hunt, even adding some valuable information about the primitive bowhunting gear and craftsmanship traditions he has studied in such detail.
From finding the wood to the impact shot and afterward, Ryan's research culminates in a timeless and successful hunt.
One of the most moving moments of the bowhunting video is when Ryan says:
A particularly meaningful place is on the thick branch of a live oak. This tree has spoke to me for many years and it lends itself well to the hunt. This is where I stalked and killed my first deer with a bow 9 years prior.
Join Ryan with his ever-present camera as he tracks the whitetail deer about 80 yards, finds it, and then explains how the primitive arrows and broadheads work in a little more additional detail.
This video preserves the legacy of hunters for modern generations.
Traditional archery equipment at its finest
Maybe it isn't a big buck like you'll see on deer hunting television shows, shot from a good distance with compound bows, but this was about the traditional bowhunting methodology. Primitive archery hunting equipment like this is harder and harder to come by these days. People actually harveting big game with it is even more rare.
You can check out more videos from Ryan here and find bows, quivers, stone points and more hunting gear on his Primitive Archery website.
