Get your eye protection out, put your ear muffs on and decide for yourself if you would want to play with one of these.

By my count, he held the air canister on there for about 20 seconds, which gave him roughly 8 seconds of shooting before he stopped. Even at that, it only seemed to be spitting ammo for the first few seconds.
In any event, with the proper safety gear and guidance, an airsoft gun can be a great way to get a kid started shooting.
