The Armed Citizen Series: Moving From Pistol to AR-15 Carbine Basics

In this next installment the Armed Citizen series will start covering AR-15 carbine basics to instill good tactical shooting habits.

The Armed Citizen Series has covered many aspects of tactical pistol shooting. Now, the time is right to move onto America's favorite "black rifle" by covering tactical lessons for the AR-15 carbine.

In this episode Kyle Lamb of Viking Tactics will go over the mounting of the rifle to get on the threat quickly and accurately.

A very good demo on how to build muscle memory to mount the carbine quickly and line-up the sights to get accurate rounds on the threat.

As highlighted by Mr. Lamb, this absolutely a drill you can practice dry with the gun unloaded and proven safe. And in fact that is exactly how you should start training. Begin with dry presents onto a target in a safe direction and once set move to live fire on the range. As with all the pistol drills covered previously, begin with deliberate movements and focus on accuracy, speed will come with time. Don't start shot clocking yourself until you have built up the basics.

Grab your AR-15 and start practicing a proper mounting movement and train towards excellence.
