Texas Family Takes in Bobcat Kittens, Lies About It After Getting Mauled

Come on, people.

You know how you sometimes see a story come across your social media pages of a dog that doesn't get along with people and likes to bite? Then later, it's revealed that it was another coyote someone mistook for a stray. Well, something similar happened in Texas.

As the story first came out, members of a family were mauled by large kittens they'd found and would have to seek medical care. They told the doctors treating them about what had happened, which led to rabies testing. At this time, it was discovered these weren't cats at all, but bobcat kittens the family had unknowingly taken in. Well, that's what they told the doctors. As wildlife officials got even more involved, the family's entire story of how they came upon these kittens started to unravel.

We've said it more than 1,000 times: leave wild animals alone. However, this family really wanted bobcat kittens apparently. Hopefully the kittens will turn out okay. Some of the family members may face misdemeanor charges, though, and rightfully so.
