Shimano Launches the All-New Curado K Baitcasting Reels

The upgraded Shimano Curado K is the new kid on the reel block, and you're going to love it!

Shimano is set to launch the new lineup of Curado K reels at ICAST this summer, and from what we can tell, all hardcore bass and saltwater anglers will want to get their hands on these. Building on a proven platform, these new Curado K's are set to take reel technology to a new level - and at a great price point to boot.

The six new models (both left and right-hand retrieve) include the 200K and 201K with 6.2:1 gear ratios, the 200KHG and 201KHG with 7.4:1 gear ratios, and the 200KXG an 201KXG with 8.5:1 gear ratios. (The latter sound awesome for burning spinnerbaits!)

Innovative features which have been added to the new Curado K lineup include MicroModule gears, which will provide smoother and more sensitive rotation, an SVS Infinity braking system, which is an upgrade from previous versions and allows the angler a wider range of adjustments, both internally and externally, and a smaller ergonomic reel body.

Reels weigh between 7.6 and 7.8 ounces (depending on model) and come with six shielded anti-rust ball bearings as well as a one-way roller bearing.

The reels are set to hit store shelves summer/fall 2017 and have a list price of $179.99.
