It's Time for Some Pumpkin Pie Moonshine

As we all know, the holidays sneak up on us as summer slowly fades away. But the craziness will all be worth it if you've got some pumpkin pie moonshine.

The best thing about the fall season, in my opinion, are the spices. Fall means the holidays are around the corner, and that means we get to enjoy treats that just seem to taste better this time of year.

Pumpkin is a sweet treat that comes around once a year in the form of lattes, pies and jack-o-lanterns. Why not moonshine?

Well, we are all in luck, because pumpkin pie moonshine is a real thing.

First, you need mason jars which, honestly, are everywhere now (they're so hip), they're even at Tractor Supply Co. Grab a pack of 12 and make your friends the tastiest gift they have ever received.

Pumpkin Pie Moonshine

It starts with Everclear... go with the 190 proof if your state allows it. Take a couple cups of that, depending on how strong you want your jars, plus a couple cups of a sweet vodka, like Pinnacle Whipped Vodka or Smirnoff Vanilla Vodka. Put the alcohol in a large container then add the following ingredients:

  • 1 can of 100-percent pumpkin
  • 2 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 3 tsp of cinnamon
  • 2 1/2 tsp of ground ginger
  • 1 tsp of nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp of ground cloves
  • 1 gallon of apple cider

*The amounts of these ingredients can vary depending on your personal taste buds...

The container needs to be big enough to fit all this good stuff. Mix all the ingredients except the cider and alcohol using a whisk or a mixer.

Add the gallon of cider, mix well, and then add the alcohol (both the Everclear and your sweet vodka of choice).

Pour the mixture into each of the mason jars and seal them up. Leave the jars in the refrigerator, or someplace real cold (outside?), for up to two weeks. The longer, the better.

Shake well before giving to your loved ones!
