Mike Iaconelli's signature series baitcast reel is a thing of beauty.
When a fishing reel's merits are exceptional design and performance features, you know it's going to be a keeper. Abu Garcia's latest release, the Revo Ike Series Low Profile baitcast reel, fits that bill perfectly.
Mike Iaconelli's name is synonymous with tournament bass fishing. A fierce competitor and Classic Champion, this newest baitcast release from Abu Garcia is a bonafide winner just like Ike himself.
Before we get into the nitty-gritty specs, the first trait you can't help but notice is the attractive color and sheen. The brilliant, but not-too-overbearing shade of purple is definitely attractive, and it refracts light in a dazzling way when out on the water. If the bass aren't biting, at least your gear still looks good, right?
Once you've stopped staring, we can continue.
Now for the performance features, and there are many. The new Abu Garcia Revo Ike Series Low Profile baitcast reel sports 10 stainless-steel ball bearings plus one roller bearing. Built on a X2-Cräftic alloy frame with a C6 carbon palm sideplate and aluminum handle sideplate, this reel incorporates lightness and toughness.
The Abu Garcia Revo Ike Series Low Profile baitcast reels are designed with two gear ratios. The super-high-speed 8.01:1 ratio reels are designed for techniques where quick retrieves and fast line recovery are a must. The lower, more powerful 6.6:1 ratio reels are perfect for techniques where a slower, more methodical retrieve is key.
The Power Stack Carbon Matrix Drag System provides 24 pounds of max drag. Add to that the D2 Gear Design, Duragear brass gear, Everslik coated pinion shaft and pawl, lube port and the Infini II spool design, and the bass might as well wave a white flag now.
Other features include an IVCB-6L braking system, compact bent handle and star, Ti coated line guide and comfortable round EVA knobs.
The Abu Garcia Revo Ike Series Low Profile casting reels come in both left- and right-handed models and have a line capacity of 140 yards with 30-pound braid.
So how much do these new reels weigh? A competitive and fairly light 7.58 ounces.
Bass anglers are bound to love this new baitcast reel release from Abu Garcia, slated to hit tackle store shelves Sept. 10, 2018. The performance features, backed by Mike Iaconelli's trusted name, definitely don't disappoint.
The Revo Ike Series Low Profile baitcast reel has an MSRP of $249.95 (US).
