Two Moose Tangle Antlers and End Up in the Bed of a Pick-Up Truck

Bull moose can get pretty territorial, and of course, it leads to bashing antlers. Moose sparing with one another is an awesome sight to behold, but one you want to keep your distance from and not something you want happening near or in any of your vehicles. That's how we get to this video, in which two Colorado moose decided to brawl in a Steamboat Springs family's driveway. Charley Lowdrick's family heard the scuffle, and when they took a peek outside, they discovered the two bull moose. The fight was on the driveway near their truck. As the two bull moose continue to ramble, they get closer to the family's home, even crashing into the truck's bed.

We carry a lot of things in our truck bed, but no one expects to have a live moose in the back! Unfortunately, the truck lost a mirror in the battle, but it could have been a whole lot worse. The moose calmly exit the vehicle after a brief pause. The pair thankfully takes their scuffle back into the forest and away from the family's home.

Steamboat Springs is home to a thriving moose population. Overall, there is an estimated population of 3,000 moose in the state, according to Colorado Parks & Wildlife. However, that wasn't the case around 20 years ago. The CPW reintroduced moose to the area and has helped boost the population over the years. The numbers have grown so much that the state allows for limited hunting in certain areas to prevent overpopulation. Of course, with a growing population comes some clashes like the one in this video, not to mention moose crossings on busy roadways. If a motorist runs into a moose on the road, they will likely lose a lot more than just a mirror. Moose get territorial during the rut, which lasts from mid-September through October, leading to many scuffles as bulls set up and defend their territories.
