Marlin's Dark Model 336 Is Still Catching Eyes

One of the most famous cowboy guns of all time just got a modern makeover.

Everyone's familiar with the Marlin 336 lever-action. Hell, the thing has remained basically unchanged since its birth 1948.

As one of the most famous lever-action rifles of all time, the 336 made a name for Marlin Firearms, which is now owned by Remington Arms. Because of the gun's timeless success, it hasn't seen many modifications throughout its life.

That changed in 2019, though, as Marlin has officially unveiled the Dark Model 336.

The idea of a tactical rendition of such a classic firearm will leave any traditionalist feeling uneasy. So, if a firearm manufacturer is going to swing for the fence, they better make contact.

Fortunately for all shooters, Marlin found the sweet spot, making a tactical lever-action rifle that somehow embodies both modernization and heritage.

Featuring a 16.25-inch barrel with a threaded muzzle, this rifle can take a suppressor or a muzzle brake. With a parkerized black finish and a black-webbed hardwood stock, it looks absolutely stunning.

Chambered in .30-30 Winchester, the Dark 336 maintains its standard shooting abilities, but adds an XS Lever Rail with a ghost-ring sight.

It also includes a paracord sling, as well as a paracord wrap on the classic big-loop lever for better handling.

What do you think? Is the Marlin Model 336 a classic American hunting rifle you just can't mess with? Or did they do it justice? Let us know!
