Man Takes Frustrations Out on Computer...By Shooting It With a 9mm

Troubleshooting your computer just took on a whole new meaning in Colorado.

A Colorado man who was tired of seeing the "blue screen of death" took his Dell XPS 410 into an alley and committed computer homicide. Reports indicate he used a 9mm pistol to assassinate the offending machine after a period of what he described as being "fed up with fighting his computer for several months"

37-year-old Lucas Hinch was spurred into action by the infernal machine, firing eight shots into the unsuspecting Dell at close range. It was not immediately known whether the offending computer was given CPR, alt-ctrl-delete, or some other form of resuscitation.

While officials understand it's not uncommon for a computer user to get frustrated, the police report says they still had to ticket the man for discharging a gun within city limits.

Partial summary of the report:

He took the computer into the back alley and fired 8 shots into the computer with a handgun, effectively disabling it.

Yeah, that'll do it.

Funeral arrangements have been made at the Colorado Springs eco-recycling center.
